Went to McFadden's in the South Campus Gateway last week.

The burger I had was okay, but I could tell the patty was one that had been frozen. The outdoor patio wasn't that great -- I was there at 3pm in the afternoon and there is absolutely no shelter from the sun at that time of day.

Overall, I don't think this place was that great. The fries were good--I'd say better than my Dublin Burger. For lunch or dinner, there are much better options on High Street, in my humble opinion. I'll post some other reviews here as I continue to explore the other spots.

The Blue Danube also known as The Dube among locals--on High Street. (read some of the reviews at the link).

This place is a slice of alternative American culture. It may seem a little weird, but it is definitely worth experiencing at least once. It is somewhat of an institution in the Columbus campus area. It was even a late-night mainstay back when my father-in-law attended OSU, so it's been around for a good while.

They have everything from hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches to pretty good Italian and Greek entrees--the menu is surprisingly long so they have a wide variety of foods. Despite the appearance of the interior, the food is delicious here. I recommend the breakfast burrito (but you may want to split it with one or 2 others as it is enormous) and the fried mac and cheese.

The ceiling is decorated by students and local artists who purchase the ceiling tiles for a few bucks and decorate them. The Dube is open pretty late every night of the week. This is a place to definitely check out for the people watching as well. Many alternative-style folks frequent the place and it can be entertaining just listening to other people's conversations or for a late night snack. It is definitely not a place for studying. This is where you go to forget about school for a little while.

If you've been here, please post your honest opinion of The Dube.

For your standard American cuisine aka burgers and fries, Graffiti Burger is a terrific value. This place does what Steak & Shake fails to do, in my opinion: delicious burgers and shakes at a low price. While Graffiti is more of a premium fast-food restaurant, the ingredients are fresh, the food is made to order, the taste is really really good, and the service is about as fast or faster than Steak & Shake. Graffiti Burger has excellent shakes. Not everyone will like a milk shake, but for those who do, you must try one! They make them right!

I'm curious if anyone else has eaten here? The location is in Grandview, which is right across the river from campus--kind of its own little community within Columbus. There are a lot of cute shops and places to eat there. They will have their own mall in a little while too--the Grandview Yard, which may be more convenient for students than driving all the way out to Polaris or Easton or Tuttle.
